As people's entertainment life is getting richer and richer, rocker potentiometers have been widely used in the game controller. Nowadays, there are more and more types of potentiometers, and they can play various roles such as dimming, voltage regulation, temperature regulation, speed regulation, frequency regulation and time regulation. In the selection of potentiometers, not only according to the use of demand to choose the type and structure of the form, but also to meet the performance of electronic equipment and parameters of the potentiometer requirements, so the selection of potentiometers to consider from a variety of aspects. The basic method of selecting the correct rocker potentiometer has the following two points.
1. understand the main requirements of the remote lever potentiometer. It is a kind of adjustable electronic components, and consists of a resistive body and a sliding or rotating system. The principle of its use is: when a voltage is applied between the two fixed contacts of the resistor body, the position of the contacts on the resistor body is changed by a sliding or rotating system. Between the fixed and moving contacts then a voltage is obtained in a certain relationship with the position of the moving contacts. On this basis there are the following two points: the resistance value meets the requirements; the contact between the resistor body and the center sliding end point is good and smooth rotation, the action of the switch part of the potentiometer with a switch should be used accurately, reliably and flexibly, so the potentiometer performance must be checked before use is good or bad.
2. Measurement before use. The method is as follows: one is to measure the resistance value, according to the size of the potentiometer resistance measured, select the appropriate resistance gear of the multimeter to measure the resistance value between the two end pieces of AC, and compare with the standard resistance value is consistent. Then rotate the sliding contact, this value should remain fixed, if this resistance value becomes infinite, indicating that the rocker potentiometer has been damaged. Second, measure the contact between the center end and the resistor body, that is, the resistance value between the two ends of the BC. In the measurement process, the multimeter ohmic file to the appropriate amount of gear, slowly rotate the spindle. At this time, attention should be paid to observe the multimeter readings, under normal circumstances, the readings will change smoothly in one direction, if the phenomenon of falling, jumping or not working, which indicates that the active contacts have poor contact failure.
Third, when the center point slides to one of the first two ends, the ideal state of the center end and the resistance value of the rejoining end should be 0, while the actual measurement will have a certain residual value (generally less than 5 ohms), it is normal.
