Potentiometer inspection method?

Potentiometer quality is good or bad, we have to know by inspection? Usually will follow the following methods.

 1. Appearance inspection: check whether the potentiometer shell has scratches, cracks, broken and other mechanical damage; check whether the potentiometer lead wire is broken, whether the plug is loose. If the shell without obvious scratches, cracks, damage, the plug is not loose for qualified.

2. Resistance test

(1) using a multimeter ohmic file to measure the potentiometer between the two fixed ends of the resistance value (that is, the two ends of the resistance value between the lead end), and the nominal resistance value (10KΩ ± 20%), to see whether the two are consistent. At the same time, rotate the axis, the value should be fixed. If the resistance value is infinite, the potentiometer has been damaged.

2) Measure the contact between the center end and the resistor body, that is, the resistance value between the two ends and the center end. Measurement process, slowly rotate the axis, pay attention to the multimeter readings, the normal situation: with the rotation of the axis, the readings evenly and smoothly increase or decrease, when the center end of the slide to the first or end, the resistance value of 0 or nominal resistance value. If the phenomenon of jumping, falling or not pass, it means that the movable contact has poor contact fault.


(3), judgment: the rotation of the shaft has a sense of smoothness; resistance value of both ends to the nominal resistance value; potentiometer sliding resistance value with the rotation of the shaft and change, the maximum resistance value to the nominal resistance value, the minimum resistance value to zero resistance value, judged to be qualified.




3. Performance test

      Thruster into the sink, potentiometer and thruster connected, turn on the power switch, repeatedly and slowly rotate the potentiometer shaft, observe whether the thruster uniformly variable speed, potentiometer shaft rotation to both ends, whether the thruster stop or maximum speed. If the potentiometer shaft is rotated, the propeller is evenly shifted, and the potentiometer shaft is rotated to both ends, the propeller stops or the maximum speed is determined to be qualified.
