A coded switch is an electronic component, also known as a rotary encoder or an orientation encoder. It usually consists of two quadrature encoders connected together with an output signal 90 degrees out of phase, and rotating clockwise and counterclockwise will produce different output signals. A coded switch is used as an input element for controllers, switches and programmable devices, mainly through rotary operation for signal input and control.
Working Principle of Coded Switche
A coded switch works by means of an internal coding element that generates a bidirectional detection signal when rotated. The rotation axis of the coding switch is coaxial with the coding element axis. When the rotation axis rotates, the coding element axis also rotates, and the coding element then generates signal changes internally. By capturing these signal changes, controller control of the output can be achieved.
Advantages of coded switches
1. High sensitivity: The coding switch uses rotation to achieve signal input, which has high sensitivity and accuracy.
2. Good reliability: The internal structure of the coded switch is simple, which is not prone to failure and has high reliability.
3. Compact structure: The small size and simple structure of the coded switch make it easy to assemble and use.
Application of coded switches
Coding switches are widely used in control circuits, motor control, counters, encoders and remote control devices. They are usually used in the input terminals of controllers and can control the input operation and control of electrical devices such as inverters, stepper motors, relays and digital tubes. In counters and encoders, coded switches are commonly used to generate pulse signals for position, angle and speed measurement and control. In remote control devices, coded switches can also be used to input control signals to enable remote control of the device.
In general, coded switches have the advantages of high accuracy, good reliability and small size, and have a wide range of application prospects for various electronic devices and systems that require input rotary control signals.
