Composition of rotary code switch

RotaryEncoder, also known as "Rotary Varistor", is a common electronic component used in control circuits of instruments, machinery and electronic devices to adjust voltage, current, frequency, angle and other parameters. A rotary encoder switch is generally composed of a rotary encoder, a coding chip and a digital conversion chip.


    1.RotaryEncoder: Rotary encoder is the core of rotary encoding switch, which is a rotary switch that can generate a series of pulse signals by rotation and output to the encoding chip for processing. Rotary encoder usually consists of rotary shaft, rotary encoder disk, limit switch, etc.

 

    2. Encoder chip (EncoderIC): Encoder chip is the signal processor of rotary encoder switch, which can recognize the pulse signal generated by rotary encoder, convert the rotary direction and step digital signal into rising edge and falling edge signal, and output to digital converter chip for digital signal output. The common coding chips are 74HC148, 74HC165, 74HC238, etc.

 

    3. Digital conversion chip (ADC): Digital conversion chip is the component that converts the decoded signal of the coding chip to digital form output. Digital conversion chip can convert the input analog signal into the corresponding digital signal, so as to achieve precise control and regulation of voltage, current, frequency and other signals. Common digital converter chips include ADC0804, ADC0809, etc.

 

    A rotary encoder is a rotary switch that contains two output ports, one port is used to output forward pulses and the other port is used to output reverse pulses. The encoder chip is used to decode the pulse signal and convert the rotation direction and step digital signal into rising edge and falling edge signal. The digital conversion chip is used to convert the decoded signal to digital signal output.
